For those who had forgotten, the OUYA is still a thing and to be honest this holiday season may be its last chance to really make an impact in the market. Seems reasonable then that the platform developers are offering an all new limited edition white version of the OUYA for the holidays. Seems reasonably festive, I suppose, with snow being white and all.
Standard OUYA consoles run at about $99.99, but the limited edition white version will cost $129.99. Why the $30 price increase? Well, the console has doubled its internal storage from 8GB to 16GB. $30 for 8GB of memory, you may be saying? Why yes, and also white paint is one thing but holiday-themed snow-colored paints is another matter entirely.
Unfortunately it doesn't appear that any other games or content is included in the limited edition bundle. It is white though. Also, OUYA likes to act like their 500 demos, timed unlocks and such are free games. Though, it does play emulators, which is probably worth $99.99 to play on a big-screen TV. $129.99 and 16GB storage just means even more emulators and ROMs, right?
The white OUYA is currently available for preorder, but does not have a set release date as of yet.
