Sony Entertainment VP Eric Lempel went out of his busy day to make a video showing off the PlayStation 4's UI. Hooray, it's launch day! It all starts with what they're calling the "PlayStation Dynamic Menu" which of course comes after logging into the user's PlayStation account. From there Lempel shows just how fast and easy it is to go from logging in to watching a friend stream a game. It can't be more than two oo three clicks and just as many seconds.
That seems to be one of the big themes with the PlayStation 4's UI, accessibility to a majority of areas with a minimum number of clicks. After that, it's actually rather impressive just how much information is available in each area, as long as you can find what you're looking for. As accessible as the menus are, keep in mind that it's all controlled with the DualShock 4 still.
In addition to general UI functionality, Lempel also goes over the new PlayStation shop and trophies. He also goes out of his way to advertise as many of Sony's premium services as possible to, including PlayStation Plus and Movies Unlimited. Eh, it's his video, but it make the whole thing much less appealing as a feature as opposed to just a big advertisement.
Sony's PlayStation 4 is available right now. That's right, it's launch day! Don't everyone go out and buy their PS4 at once, okay? No one likes waiting in lines.
