Hideo Kojima came on stage at the PlayStation 4 All-Access launch event to debut a new trailer and announce an exclusive level for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PlayStation 4. It was certainly the oddest event of the night, because it was hard to tell exactly what we'd be getting. Kojima dubbed it the "Deja Vu Mission" and said it would feature the classic, 5-polygon monstrosity of the original Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation. Sounds... cool?
Sure, yeah, it does sound cool, but from the trailer we were shown all that appeared to change we the models of certain characters. Is this Deja Vu Mission simply just a skin change or is ther more than meets the eye? The DARPA Chief in the cage certainly didn't seem like just a simple skin change. With this Kojima guy it's really hard to tell what's going on.
After the event we also got news of Japanese special edition release of the game featuring a figuring of Snake from Ground Zeroes. Hopefully we'll hear if that will come westward in the next couple of months.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in mid-2014. Ground Zeroes is a smaller prequel to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
