Glad to hear that they're moving it to the Convention Centre - Showgrounds was too small, but I understand they wanted to gauge interest first before going to the big areas.

This year was great, will have to see if I can snag a ticket for next year. Nice to see Australia starting to build up some geek cred on the international stage. Seriously, Melbourne is a wonderful city - if you're a tourist looking to head to Australia, you could do worse than PAX!

And this is why living in Perth sucks, put simply. I'll probably save up some cash for an airfare and ticket for 2015 .

I've never even been to PAX yet, I might just have to snag myself a ticket as well. Any idea how much tickets are?

Dreadlock Holiday it says on the site that they cost $55 for a single day, and $150 for the 3 day package . I think there was some kind of option, but I looked at it this morning and I've forgotten xD.

I was going to say living in Tassie sucks, but it's only about a 50 minute flight these days to Melbourne from Tassie.

I'll also have to try and make it to this PAX, from what I've heard from mates is pretty epic. Better not sell out before I get paid.

Try living in Perth! So many events just stick to cities on the east coast and totally ignore our side of the country. Plus tickets to Melbourne from here are twice as expensive than flying overseas for a holiday.
No joke.
Melbourne- $450 return
Bali - $208 return
(prices from the cheapest options for the same date range through a search on expedia)

Anyway, I went to PAX last year and had an awesome time (not just at the convention, but getting to wander around the city with my friends too!) so I've already got my tickets for next year, and have started putting aside money for flights.
For those thinking of going, if you want pins/collectables, Friday is the best day.
If you want to see the larger events/talks, Saturday was the best for these.
If you're after more time getting to talk to the devs and playing demos, go on Sunday as it's a lot quieter.
Although the whole thing is a blast anyway!

Thanks, useful info. Also, I have a strategic plan to live in Perth (Joking) No way unless I've found a job there with 1 million salary per month like a CEO.
