Sony has one more surprise in store for launch day PlayStation 4 buyers, which they've revealed today. All boxes will come with three bonuses: 30-day subscription to PlayStation Plus, 30-day subscription to Music Unlimited, and $10 in PlayStation Store credit all for free. Overall that's about $20 value, which isn't much in the long-term, but goes a long way to providing day one content for all users. All starting November 15.
Having this content available for all buyers means that even if the PlayStation 4 owners doesn't purchase any games at launch, they'll have something to play. They'll have PS Plus which will provide both Resogun and Contrast free to PlayStation Plus subscribers. They'll have $10 which is probably enough to buy at least one of the dozen digital games also available at launch. Worst case, they'll have a selection of free-to-play games which they can play with Music Unlimited playing in the background.
For just $20 Sony is ensuring that all PlayStation 4 owners have an awesome day one experience. Well, so long as they can connect to the internet and download like a billion different things. From the company that requires PS Vita owners to go out and spend extra money on ridiculously expensive memory cards after they buy the handheld, it's a huge step forward. Let's just hope we don't open the box and the hard drive is missing.
