I don't see the sales increasing until Smash Bros and Mario Kart are released.
I'm glad WWHD didn't sell well enough, *bleep* off NIntendo for selling HD ports for $50

I'd buy one if it offered more than just a few exclusive titles..Apart from that, Xbox and PS3 just do everything better.

I saw that. xD
Eh, even if the remake was at a reasonable price, I still don't think it would sell well anyway.
I don't think the Zelda franchise is as strong these days.

Anyway, I'm not too surprised. They aren't really delivering, even on their first parties, surprsingly.
Hopefully 3D World will boost their sales. It'll do a hell of a lot better than that Windwaker bundle, I'm sure. xD

Edit: Woah, they still expect to reach 9 million by the end of the fiscal year? They would need about a million per month, which is not going to happen.
Iwata needs to go.

I don't see 3D World making a difference, it's being released on the same day as the Xbone and the new 3DS Zelda game. Not to mention the same week as the PS4.

Also (at least in the States) the same day as the new Mario Party... I think that makes 3 3DS titles coming out on the same day, as well as being close to the releases of the XBoxOne and PS4. Sales are going to be pretty tricky to put it lightly. (Does that mean I'll refrain from getting at least one of the new titles... nope :3)

I don't know about you guys, but I plan on getting a Wii U this Christmas. The games are just so much more... fun. I'm a fully grown male adult with at least 10 notches on my belt and a fulltime job. I don't have time for this... Kill Zone... or Call of Duty... I just want some old fashioned Mario and Zelda titles.

I'll be picking one up this Christmas as well, so they'll have my money to help them toward their goal. The new bundle with both Super Mario Bros U and Luigi U is an extra bonus.

Slash, Eh, I guess I can agree. Of course the other two new consoles will dominate, but I expect 3D World to move some units, unlike Windwaker, as long as they actually market the damn game.

Super Smash Bros 4 will hopefully be the Wii U's Metal Gear Solid 4

I hope

Iwata is delusional.

The Wii U sold near enough 3 million units Worldwide in its first month on sale which is an astonishingly good launch, near perfect even. Though, 11 months on the system has only added 900,000 sales to that figure which is likely record breaking for all the wrong reasons. Now a healthy system has a good launch but then continues to sell upwards of 100k+ a week for the duration of its life. Xbox 360 did this, PlayStation 3 did and Wii did though none of them came close to the 250k a week needed to sell a million a month.

What Iwata wants to happen is a console with very few must have titles that has sold 900,000 units in 11 months to start selling 1 million a month for no reason. I mean I'd expect that kind of optimism if Smash Bros. was out next week or Zelda Wii U but there is nothing. Iwata needs to start dialing back expectation as currently it's that bad that come the end of Fiscal 2013 he'll be lucky if Wii U has sold 4.5 million Worldwide. I want Wii U to succeed but it'll take more than just games as no one but gamers know what a Wii U actually is, a decent advertising campaign would not hurt at all.

That certainly won't happen, especially in this economy. I don't foresee myself getting a WiiU anytime soon due to reasons outside my control.

Even in a good economy, it'd be virtually impossible!

Although it probably partially explains why people aren't nearly as excited for the PS4 and Xbone as they were with the PS3 and 360. At least, that's what I've noticed anyway.

I guess you could say Sony and Microsoft do what Nintendon't.

Sony, Microsoft and several retail outlets have all said that the PS4 and Xbox One pre-order rate is double if not triple that of the pre-orders PS3 and 360 got. Though despite that it seems that most sites rather than post about how these systems may have the biggest launches in history try to create articles that cause arguments among "rival" fans instead.
