Hellraid, a first-person cooperative, dungeon crawling, fantasy loot-fest title originally announced for release in lat 2013 has been delayed. Yes, Techland has made the tough decision to delay their baby into 2014 with no further announced release window. The delay comes as a result of, well, the game not being done. That's probably the best reason to delay a game. Sleep, skeletons; go back to sleep.
"If we released our game this year we would have to make too many compromises and the final product probably wouldn’t meet all our promises and your expectations. That’s why we’ve made a tough decision to release Hellraid in 2014 or to be more precise: when it’s done."
Props to Techland for making the difficult decision and delaying their game in order to ensure the quality of their game. It seems like they've got a great concept going with Hellraid and it would have been particularly disappointed if it turned out sub-par because of a lack of polish and content. Hopefully now they'll be able to create exactly the game they want, without making us wait too long!
Expect Hellraid to be released in 2014, one way or another, on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
