While Star Wars 1313 couldn't be any more dead if its jet pack malfunctioned and launched itself into the Great Pit of Carkoon, no one can blame us for wondering what could have been. Luckily we have some source material for our nerdy daydreams as several pieces of concept art for the now-canceled Star Wars project have been leaked to the wider internet. Boba Fett... he looks so happy. Oh, what could have been.
In these shots we get a really outstanding look at the under city that is 1313, with all of its skyscrapers and gritty industrial atmosphere. It's a mixture of Blade Runner and Deus Ex and that is a wonderful thing. Then there's Boba Fett, who I admit feels oddly out of place in the setting. At least, he's out of place until he's back in form burning some random aliens alive or checking a corpse for... clues?
Star Wars 1313 died with the closure of LucasArts as a game development studio, part of the Disney acquisition of LucasFilm that ruined our Star Wars dreams. Will EA's partnership with Disney lead to the sort of experiences we'd have seen in Star Wars 1313? You never know, but nonetheless this one in particular is a hard cancelation to swallow.
