Nintendo's trend of bringing over more special edition 3DS bundles than ever continues as today they unveiled their gold The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds package. Retailing for $219.99, the golden 3DS XL features the Triforce prominently on its lid and will come bundled with a download code for A Link Between Worlds. Expect the handheld to be released the same day as the game, November 22, though preorders are likely open at various retailers right now.
Executive VP of Sales and Marketing Scott Moffitt offered the following pitch:
"This beautifully designed Nintendo 3DS XL system continues a tradition that has delighted our fans for decades. It’s a special bundle for a very special video game."
The tradition Scott speaks of is of course that where each The Legend of Zelda release receives a sort of golden special edition on release. It goes back all the way to the original Zelda on NES, which came in a gold-painted cartridge. Handheld titles, I believe, typically don't get such glamorous treatment, but since there's been a dry spell in new Zelda titles why not?
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be launching on Nintendo 3DS on November 22. If you're in the market for a brand new 3DS XL, why not check out this golden bundle which includes the gold 3DS XL and a download code for the game at a price of $219.99.
