After more than fifteen years and some great memories, EA Sports is saying goodbye to another one of its largest sports partnerships. EA Sports and Tiger Woods have mutually agreed to end their relationship, leading to EA going forward with its PGA Tour franchise alone. Yes, as sad as it will be not having Tiger Woods' name on the next big realism-based golf game, EA Sports won't let that slow them down from putting out at least one golf game a year.
Not just any golf game, either! Yes, the next PGA Tour title will be coming to next-gen consoles, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, and that means things better start looking different for the franchise. And by different, I mean more visually bountiful. Don't worry your little heads, everyone, because EA Sports knows what you need. You need a current-gen vs. next-gen screenshot comparison.
Just look at it (scroll down)! Look at all the, erm, flowers! The water! Even the people look like people as opposed to half-human shadow monsters. There's an alligator in the water! That just screams realism to me. Actually, I think the biggest realization here is just how terrible the PGA Tour games currently look. Come on guys, have a little self-respect.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14, the last title to bear the Tiger Woods title, was released in March earlier this year. PGA Tour 15, the assumed name of the next game in the franchise, is expected to be released during a similar window next year.
