It's difficult to think that Trine 2 was originally released almost two years ago on PC. It's seriously still one of the best looking games I've ever played. As such, it's great to hear that Trine 2's developers Frozenbyte still think it's worth continuing to port their game to as many places as possible. Today they announced they'll be self-publishing their game on PlayStation 4 as Trine 2: Complete Story.
Trine 2: Complete Story, which is the currently released on PC, is a bundle of the the original game, the Goblin Menace Expansion and the Dwarven Caverns level originally released as part of the Director's Cut version of the game on Wii U. Basically, it's everything you'd ever want or need for the full Trine 2 experience.
Best yet, however, is that Frozenbyte were able to capitalize on the PlayStation 4's upgraded specifications to confirm the game will be running at 1080p and 60fps. That should be a first for console players, no doubt. Add in stereoscopic 3D if you're into that sort of thing and PlayStation 4 purchasers are certain to have yet another treat available on their platform. The miracle of allowing self-publishing on a console, right?
Currently Frozenbyte doesn't have a release date for their PlayStation 4 port of Trine 2: Complete Story, but we should expect more information soon.
