BioShock Infinite is one of the most exciting releases of the year. As such, it has been absolutely torturous waiting the game's first full single-player DLC release, Burial at Sea. Luckily the wait is beginning to disappear, as Irrational Games announced today that the first episode of the DLC would be releasing November 12. That gives us just about three days to play before being devoured by next-gen insanity!
Irrational Games' Creative Director Ken Levine offered the following introduction:
"This is a love letter to the fans, but it’s also the beginning of a story that will give gamers a new perspective on the BioShock universe. With Burial at Sea, we built a Rapture not from BioShock and BioShock Infinite scraps and pieces, but with environments almost entirely crafted from scratch."
Booker and Elizabeth... I'm not sure if I'm ready to meet them again. Along with our old protagonists, Irrational promises that we may meet some "old friends" which is even more disturbing. Add in a couple new weapons, a new plasmid, new gear and new tears and yeah, that should be worth the price of admission. Then there's a freakin' brand new story set in RAPTURE, too, you know. That's kind of a cool thing.
BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode 1 will be available November 12 on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. The DLC alone will cost $14.99, though it can be purchased as part of the Season Pass for $19.99, which also includes the previously released Clash in the Clouds add-on, the Early Bird Special Pack, and Burial at Sea's second episode.
