Titanfall? Who cares about Titanfall? EA decided to ride its Titanfall release date announcement with an update on The Sims 4. Namely, The Sims 4 in now planned for release in fall of 2014 on PC and Mac! That generally means September, October, November, by the way. Hooray, there's less than a year to go before we get to torture Sims in a billion different ways!
The Sims Studio General Manager Rachel Franklin offered the following statement:
"The Sims franchise has the best fans in the world and their passion and enthusiasm is at an all-time high. Those millions of voices will fuel our development process, helping The Sims 4 to be the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made. We can’t wait to see our fans reaction when The Sims 4 comes out in autumn 2014."
Despite The Sims Studio's claims that their new Sims will be more intelligent and emotive, I'll reserve judgment until the game is actually released. AI hasn't exactly come a long ways in recent years and if SimCity is any indication EA's studios don't seem to know the definition of "intelligent." Smart or stupid, everyone can still have tons of fun in The Sims 4, but let's not make any assumptions.
The Sims 4 will launch in the fall of 2014 on PC and Mac. Hopefully we'll get an early look at gameplay soon!
