It's not Kingdom Hearts 3's release date, but Square Enix has epic news for fans of the franchise. Following up the release of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ReMIX is the announcement of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX. A natural progression, right? 2.5 ReMIX is more than fans may have expected, however, bundling Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep Final Mix, neither of which have been released in North America previously. Also included are Kingdom Hearts Re:coded's theatrical cut-scenes.
Let's go over that list one more time for those that prefer to skip straight to the bullet points:
- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix: The Final Mix edition of the PS2 game, coming to North America for the first time, features addtional cut-scenes, items and battles.
- Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix: The Final Mix edition of the PSP game, coming to North America for the first time, features an extra stage and other additional content.
- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded theatrical cut-scenes: The DS game itself is not included in the Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX package, but its updated cutscenes will be.
Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX will be coming exclusively to PlayStation 3 in 2014, leading up to the release of Kingdom Hearts 3 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 rumored to launch in 2015.
