It's been some time since we last heard about Thief, and while Square Enix has released another gameplay trailer for the game it unfortunately covers ground we've already tread. The focus of the trailer is reintroducing Garrett to the city in only way appropriate, by stealing a giant jewel known as the Heart of the Lion. Unfortunately it's all gameplay that press were shown as far back as E3.
While it's outstanding that the greater majority will finally see some Thief in motion, it's unfortunate we're not going to be able to move the discussion for the game forward. There's already plenty of talk about the structure of the the game as Garrett hunts for the Heart of the Lion, as well as his rather linear escape across the burning bridge. Many gamers are still trying to figure out what Thief is -- it's certainly not the classic, that's for sure. The solution is of course to show gamers much more of the game. I suppose this is a good start.
Thief will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on February 25 in 2014. Hopefully we'll see a deeper lock at Garrett as we dig into this year's holiday season.
