Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag officially has a Season Pass deal, because all the cool games do it these days. Along with this announcement is another for the upcoming Freedom Cry DLC, centered around Edward Kenway's partner Adewale. Obviously, you get the DLC with the Season Pass.
For those who stil aren't aware, a Season Pass is basically a one-time payment for a certain number of upcoming add-on content. Usually, paying for a Season Pass is cheaper than buying the included DLC individually, so if you're someone who absolutely has to own every piece of game add-on ever, it's a good deal.
In addition to the Freedom Cry single-player DLC, the Assassin's Creed IV Season Pass also encompasses the Kraken Ship Pack (exclusive to the Season Pass), and a number of multiplayer characters. The Pass is priced at $19.99, and Ubisoft notes you'll be saving 20% on the DLC.
Here's a more detailed rundown of what you're getting:
- All New Single-Player Story – Born a slave, Adewale found freedom as a pirate aboard the Jackdaw where he became Edward Kenway’s second-in-command. Now, 15 years later, Adewale has become a trained Assassin who finds himself shipwrecked in Saint-Domingue without weapons or crew. He starts to meet locals in an effort to assemble a crew and steal a ship. The more he helps, however, the more he is drawn into the Maroon slave community. Forced to face his past, Adewale sets out to free the slaves and bring death to their captors. Over 3 hours of new single-player gameplay!
- Exclusive Kraken Ship Pack – Only available to Season Pass owners, this pack includes a sail, wheel, and figurehead inspired by the legendary sea monsters known for swallowing ships, men and whales.
- A Deeper Single-Player Experience – More of what you love – Single-player missions, weapons, skins, and collectibles for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag.
- More Multiplayer Mayhem – Unlock new characters for an even more expansive multiplayer experience.
If you're not too sure whether you want that single-player content, Ubisoft does have a trailer for it.
