Indie puzzle-platformer Constant C was only just approved through the Steam Greenlight program this past August, but they've got more great news on top of that. It seems IGS Play has found a third-party publisher who wants to bring their game to XBLA on the Xbox 360 too. 5pb Games confirmed today they'll be bringing Constant C out on XBLA in spring of 2014
While Microsoft's currently working out their system for independent studios to release their games on the Xbox One without publishers, they still have a different setup on Xbox 360. All games must have publisher support to be released via XBLA. What this announcement means is that Constant C's success via Greenlight is likely to move across multiple platforms and that 5pb snagged it up for Xbox 360.
This is also a great opportunity for us to introduce Constant C, since we haven't been able to talk much about it yet. Constant C takes place on a space station where time and space has suddenly frozen as a part of the "Superliminal Project." It's up to a security robot, who looks mysteriously like Josef from Machinarium, to save the day. He'll have a variety of time and space-bending abilties to help him, naturally.
Here's the "Key Features" list provided by 5pb:
- Over 100 mind-blowing levels - Unique physics-based gameplay that let's you control gravity, momentum and time.
- Aesthetically pleasing hand drawn 2D graphics - Lush soundtrack and ambient sound effects complement the sci-fi setting.
- Console specific enhancements - Revamped localization and much more!
- Unravel the mystery - Explore the depths of the space station to discover what went wrong and save the universe from imploding on itself!
Check out the gameplay trailer below and expect to see Constant C on XBLA starting in spring of 2014.
