A surprising partnership was revealed today as CD Projekt RED, creators of the upcoming The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, and Dark Horse Comics, creators of Hellboy, are teasing an announcement for New York Comic Con. During a panel titled "Full Color Fantasy: Fantasy Comics Past, Present and Future! Dark Horse will reveal their project to the world. Until then, well, I suppose we'll have to pretend we don't know what's coming.
Sure, the teaser doesn't say anything outright, but come on. It's a comic convention, the panel says "Fantasy Comics" right in the title, Dark Horse has been making moves into gaming comics for some time like with The Last of Us, and there's only one CD Projekt RED project that they'd want to advertise right now. Yes, push all your chips onto: Dark Horse Comics is making a The Witcher 3 comic.
Expect to hear more on Dark Horse and CD Projekt Red's collaboration on Friday, October 11. Sure, there really isn't any surprise as to what we're dealing with here, but then again it's not like we know what the actual content of the comic will include. Will it be a prequel, a sequel, or a side-story to The Witcher 3? I loved The Last of Us: American Dreams and can't wait to see what Dark Horse has for us next.
