Despite all their crazy laws pertaining to video games and censorship, Australia remains a pretty huge market. Today, Bethesda announced that they've established a new publishing office down in Sydney, Australia.
ZeniMax Australia will be directly overseeing operations, from sales and marketing to distribution for all Bethesda games in Australia and New Zealand. According to ZeniMax and Bethesda, this new office just goes to show "the importance of the growing Australian market," as well as their "commitment" to the Asia Pacific region. ZeniMax already has operations in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
The new office comes in advance of several major titles published through Bethesda. 2014 will be seeing the releases for ZeniMax's The Elder Scrolls Online, MachineGame's Wolfenstein: The New Order, and Tango Gamework's The Evil Within.
The Australian office will be managed by Simon Alty, most recently the Managing Director at marketing firm One to Another.
