Guess they wanted to give us two characters this month. xD Didn't think we would get another until just before X&Y came out. But this does seem fitting with the Wind Waker HD release date around the corner(besides those who got the Wii U Bundle).

Personally never cared about Toon Link in the Smash Bros. series as I always felt one Link was enough(felt the same way towards Dr. Mario). But it's not big of a problem that he does return. He does look pretty nice in the Wii U version. And looks nice in the 3DS version as well.

Nooooooooo!

Quite disappointed about this news.
Its not that I dislike toonlink himself, but judging from the images he'll be a clone again T_T(we see him using the spin attack, arrows and bombs)

Why can't they give him different moves?Like the hammer, the deku leaf, the mirror shield or the pegasus boots?

Also I kinda get the feeling, that this game may not have any unlockable characters(or that they are spoiling us,at least with returners),because out of the zelda characters, toon link would be the last I'd expect as a starting character

Yay, now we're gonna see some of the unlockable characters! Does anyone think Sonic will return because of "Sonic Lost Worlds"?

Huh.
That's the first character I'd have expected to get cut.

I say meh. I wonder what their justification is for keeping 2 Links in the game. Admittedly I'm not much of a Zelda fan, but it just seems so illogical to me.

Used Toon Link all the time in Brawl so, hey, I'm happy.

This. Oh well.

I do prefer him to the regular Link in terms of gameplay, even though I wanted him gone. Is that weird?

What would be illogical is to not put Toon Link into Smash. Link represents the grown, taller Links more commonly subjected to 3D games, like Skyward Sword Link, Twilight Princess Link or adult Ocarina of Time Link. He represents Zelda II Link as well, seeing as he's an older Zelda I Link. Toon Link represents the Toon or kid iterations more commonly subjected to 2D games, like Zelda I Link, A Link to the Past Link, Oracle of Ages/Seasons Link, Links Awakening Link, Wind Waker Link, Ocarina of Time Young Link, Majoras Mask Link, Spirit Tracks Link, Minish Cap Link, A Link Between Worlds Link, the list goes on. As you can see, Toon Link is just as important to the Zelda franchise as Link, if not than more so. Although I do wish they'd give him a couple more unique characteristics in Smash 4. If you would like to see how true-to-game Link or Toon Link would play in smash, go to YouTube and look up Toon Link / Link true moveset. I prefer these movesets over the original developers, seeing as how unique and realistic they are for the characters.
