It's impossible to argue that Final Fantasy XV looks anything other than outstanding. Our protagonist, is it Noctis, fighting against the behemoth and the Leviathan itself is all rather stunning. For Final Fantasy's debut on next-gen consoles we really shouldn't expect anything less, of course. Coming to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in the future, I only have one question, what even is this game?
Considering the introduction of what seems like dozens of characters, along with a high-tech and yet magical world seemingly caught up in political turmoil -- it's overwhelming. I'm trying to find my point of entry here, something I can grab hold of and really get excited about. Even with the gorgeous graphics and huge monsters, I just can't say anything beyond, "What am I even looking at here?"
Expect more news on Final Fantasy XV on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 over the course of TGS this weekend, and hopefully in the months ahead. Hopefully they do a better job of making me feel less like I'm picking up Lightning Returns and thinking it's the first in the trilogy.
