Keiji Inafune awoke from the fugue that's been his Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter to make an announcement at Sony Japan's PlayStation event last night. Soul Sacrifice Delta will be his next game for the PlayStation Vita, a reworking of the action title that came out in March earlier this year. Delta isn't just any update or upgrade, however, as Inafune promised an expansive new experience in his game's next iteration.
Not too many details were addressed regarding what Inafune will be adding to the game, though he did say that a third option will be added to the end of battles. Where prior there were only two options, a good and a bad option, there will now be a third, "Neutral Force," option. Pack on new items, monsters, magic and who knows what else and I'm betting Soul Sacrifice fans and Vita owners are already persuaded.
Expect Soul Sacrifice Delta to launch in Japan on March of 2014. If localization is as fast as with the original, expect an April release. I believe Keiji said he was planning on releasing yearly iterations of the franchise going into the future, but it might have been a translation error. Hopefully we'll hear more on a possible localization at Tokyo Game Show, which begins September 19.
