Nintendo's final Pokemon X and Pokemon Y reveal from today's Nintendo Direct event is hardware related. Two Pokemon X and Pokemon Y-themed 3DS XL special editions, previously announced for Japan, have now been confirmed for worldwide release. The 3DS XLs will come in red or blue and feature the same design, Xerneas and Yveltal along with a large printed "X" and "Y".
Take note that these special edition 3DS XLs will not be bundles, as in they won't be coming out on Pokemon X and Y's launch date and they won't come with the game. They're standalone products, each available for $199.99 and will be available starting September 27. As previously mentioned, they're likely to be limited in quanitity and considering how fast previous 3DS XL designs have gone you may want to get your preorder in fast.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y will be launching October 12, or two weeks after the release of these limited edition 3DS XLs. Both of the handhelds look awesome, the red in particular to me even though I'm typically a blue sort of guy. Two great handhelds for two great games! Ah, Nintendo, you spoil us so.
