If I am understanding his Bank thing correctly (have not read all posts), it is an amazing idea. Getting all my White and White 2 Pokemon to X/Y easily is a great thing. This should have been added to the last Generation!

How far back in Generations will the Cloud work for? Just White/Black, or father back?

It says that you cannot transfer pokemons that are illigally created, but what if you make that pokemon breed and get an egg from it, will that pokemon hatching from that egg still be considered as a illigal pokemon?
i don't think that newly hatched pokemon will be detected but if the pokemon has an illegal move i think that's when it rings the bell.

hellonurse, I agree, it is not justifiable to use an online bank. I think thier main focus is the transporter though, they could've easily made a poke transfer system ingame without the need to download it. i think thier main focus is the transporter, and not the bank itself. in order to get the transporter you would need to pay for the bank. Also 5$ is only the conversion of 500 yen in japan. they did not annouce a price for NORTH AMERICA YET. They are currently trying to gauge peoples reaction of the pokemon bank, so they can price it accordingly. positive views=higher price, poorer views=lower price. the apps are the result of the tournament cheaters anyways, It is diffuclt to get internet connection sometimes, especially with COMCAST. sometimes people are on the network streaming, so you cant even manage a simple connection, so your pokemon is effectively in "jail".

Well, this is awesome, but it also sucks. Call me paranoid, but I don't enjoy storing information over a server. Ever. The price is cheap, yes (at least for the moment). But using a server rather than storing on the SD is not justifiable. I do hope someone is able to make an IR GTS-like application this gen. I loved storing backup mons on my laptop.

The key word is "obvious", and Pokecheck updates itself too so that only "legal" Pokemon pass the checks.
If AR is used to obtain legal hacks, it will be allowed in Nintendo tournaments, anyway.

If Game Freak / Nintendo buy Pokecheck over and implement its legality checks into Pokemon Bank, that would sieve out a hell lot of obvious hacks.

Seems pretty cool. Definitely worth the price and I can see why they would charge us for such an incredible service. May use.

Pheonyx it isn't just about storage! It is about legacy! Leaving behind a legacy for your kids! Don't you want them to grow up knowing what pokemon you used? How awesome Charizard and Venusaur are? Picture if you will, your children playing the future Pokemon games. You could give them your old Chespin or Froakie! Let them carry on the torch!

Ok sorry, I just had to get all sappy for a moment. Lol.
My kids will grow up the same way I did, a single starter and nothing more. This is Pokemon! We don't coddle our kids, we throw them to the wilderness at the young age of 10 and tell them to fend off scary adults with nothing more than lizards and mice.

Sounds alright to me. It sounds like it can be helpful, though I'm not sure if I would end up using it. O:

I foresee problems with this service, but at the same time I like the idea. Being able to trade with myself and send Pokemon back and forth for 5 dollars rather than the cost of a lot more is extremely valuable for me. However, the points raised earlier about the cloud storage needing maintenance and other such things worry me. Besides, what IF the data gets deleted? My biggest question is, what if my pokemon are legitimate hacks? Not shiny maxed stats, but max IVs I hacked for (I don't have the time for breeding)? What if a hacked for a certain pokemon that appears in a route but I used AR to find? These bug me, but whatever, I'll risk it. Also, what happens to the hacked Pokemon that you attempt to send? Will they be deleted, will you be punished? I need to know these, but it's just to valuable.

Its all about the children after all, ain't it?

Thanks for that by the way, now I'm having flashbacks of Professor Oak's speech.
