I can only imagine how awkward it might be to have eight controllers lying around.
But I'm sure you'd be great at parties if you did.

"You become the controller with Kinect... but it doesn't hurt to have eight backups just in case."

How will split screen work in this case? I am interested to see how they are planning on marketing this.

LOD-squa It's likely that most games with multiplayer will never support eight controllers, let alone split-screen given trends in the current generation. The option is simply there, and will probably only be used by unique sorts of games.

Yeah I doubt they would do split screen, it's more likely for side-scrolling or top-down co-op games, and only a select few at that.

But I'm not getting an Xbox One, so I guess it doesn't really matter to me.

You can use up to 7 remotes on the PS3, it was never used much. It was just usually for Sports games.

I figured, but I am inclined to believe that some moron might try it. I would expect a type SSB game to use it or side-scrollers.

For reference, Playstation 3 had up to 7 controllers at once and PS4 will only have 4.

The reason most likely being that it wasn't used....at all...with the exception of a few sports and music games but that's just carving out a percent of a percent.

Haha, 8 player SSB would be pretty cool to try out, though probably not practical on smaller battle stages. It would be even more awkward if they all chose Kirby

I'm not sure which games you'd be needing 8 controllers for, though something like Madden or NBA 2k14 I could somewhat see, even though the number of players on the field would still require sim players.

See, if they could make the XB1 support two screens, this would make a great LAN party console.

What everyone is wondering is how split screen will work for this, I don't think many games will support 8 displays at once (Or it won't be very speedy FPS-wise).

This is a cool feature I suppose, but $400 dollars for all those controllers makes me gag, unless you're rich like Microsoft apparently thinks we all are.

They gotta 1-Up the competition with this almost useless feature. Nice try, but I think Sony already won the rap-off at E3.

So what if all my 8 controllers need charging and i want to charge them all at the same time? Ever thought about that Microsoft?

I can't remember the last time I had seven people over.
