Microsoft updated their Xbox One wireless controller profile recently and a surprising fact popped up. Something I doubt they realized is as big of a deal to fans as it trully is. The Xbox One will support eight concurrent controllers hooked up to the console at once. Eight! That's double the four that the Xbox 360 allows and more than most people can fit in front of a television comfortably anyway.
While I'd like to believe that Microsoft is doing this because they realize it's a feature some gamers will be blown away by, and would hate to believe it's Microsoft excited at the possibility of users buying eight controllers each, it's more likely along the lines of, "Hey, how many controllers can we get working on this thing without any slowdown? Eight? Okay, let's go with that."
Xbox One will be launching during November later this year for $499.99. Add in even a single extra controller and you've got $60 tacked on to your bill. Seven more in addition to the one packaged with the console may be a bit too costly for more folk. Best just bring your own controller to a friends house.
