Someone give Sony a high five! They've just shown off two color customizations for their PlayStation 4 DualShock 4 controllers. Introducing "Magma Red" and "Wave Blue" which switch out the black grip material of the base controller for brighter, matte red and blue versions. It looks like the colored portion of the controller will still be a textured surface, maintaining the grip. All in all they look like solid controllers.
Oh, and the other important part of this story -- the price! Each controller will retail for $59 or €59/£54. This is about in-line with the amount they charged for PlayStation 3 controllers at launch. Hey, at least they don't charge as much as they do for PS Vita memory cards, right? Ha! Ha... ha. Hmm.
Anyways, I think I'll probably pick up the blue version for my second controller at launch. The red version looks great too, but I dislike that the, ah, who am I kidding. I just like blue better than red. Keep in mind that the colors on the led in front will change, I believe. So don't worry too much abut the blue laser on a red controller, if that's an issue to you. Check out the gallery for a better look at each controller.
