Sony, on top of everything else today, has released a list of PlayStation 4 retail launch window titles along with a promise of 33 games overall before the end of 2013. Let's make it clear right here, that's 33 retail and digital releases on the PlayStation 4 before the end of the year. That would include some of the indies Sony has been marketing so strongly. Still, 33 games in a month and a half is a hell of a lot of games.
Let's get to the actual list though. Now, this is a list of retail titles coming to the PlayStation 4, but it's not clear if these are launch day titles or launch window. It's also not clear if this is all of the launch window retail games and the rest are digital releases or not. Nevertheless, this is what we've been provided:
- Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag (Ubisoft)
- Battlefield 4 (EA)
- Call of Duty: Ghosts (Activision)
- Driveclub (Sony)
- FIFA 14 (EA)
- Killzone: Shadow Fall (Sony)
- Knack (Sony)
- Just Dance 2014 (Ubisoft)
- LEGO Marvel Superheroes (Warner Bros.)
- Madden 25 (EA)
- NBA 2K14 (2K Games)
- NBA Live (EA)
- Need for Speed: Rivals (EA)
- Skylanders: Swap Force (Activision)
- Watch Dogs (Ubisoft)
As you can see, a majority of the titles are made up of big third party titles that will launch on both Xbox One and PlayStaiton 4, in addition to both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. As far as true exclusive go, Sony has Drive Club, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack. Microsoft certainly has a few more first party published titles, but Sony is hoping to make up for that with indies exclusives.
It's probably safe to bet that the above titles will be available when the PlayStation 4 launches on November 15 unless news comes out stating otherwise. If you're already decided on a PlayStation 4, then let me tell ya... that's a great list of games. If you're deciding between Xbox One and PlayStation 4, well then, I don't envy your decision, friend. There is no wrong choice.
