Turn 10 Studios wants to make sure everyone knows Forza Motorsport 5 is also at gamescom this year, playable as at previous events. What better way to celebrate the event than by announcing two more tracks that will be included in the game. Returning favorite Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca takes us back to Central California, and all new Spa-Francorchamps, a 4.3 mile track in Belgium.
Forza Motorsport 5 creative director Dan Greenawalt also made the following statement regarding the efforts his team is going to on the Xbox One:
"For Forza Motorsport 5, we have an incredibly powerful console at our disposal in the Xbox One. To make the most of that power, we had to collect data on tire variables that have never been isolated – to refactor our understanding of tire technology through the lens of a much more powerful console; one that could handle the increasingly complex formulae of heat, slip and weight transfer that our increased understanding demands. Thanks to the power of the Xbox One and our Calspan partnership, we are implementing truly cutting edge scientific understanding of tire physics, suspension geometry, and aerodynamics – we’re not implementing the recommendations of last year’s text books, we’re running the tests that will write the vehicle dynamics text books of the next several years."
As usual, I'm not the one to talk to about cars or racing. Microsoft seems to think mentioning corners like "La Source" and "Eau Rouge" will get people excited about the Spa-Francorchamps track, as well as the "Corkscrew" curve of Laguna Seca. Sound like great mixed drinks to me! Ha! Ha... ha. Hmm.
A launch title on the Xbox One, expect Forza Motorsport 5 some time in November. Also, make sure to check out the screenshots attached below, because this game looks good. Those cars, man, those cars.
