City Interactive today released the first trailer ever for Lords of the Fallen, an upcoming next-gen/PC RPG with a hardcore edge. I'm referring to difficulty, of course, which is a major pillar in the game's design. The trailer mostly looks cool though.
The CG video introduces us to a fellow who is most likely Harkyn, the protagonist. The weapon switch he does might also point to the game's open-ended progression system, which lets you basically switch between the three classes at any point. The mace he wields does seem to have some significance, though whether this comes into play in the actual game remains to be seen.
The stone fingers coming out of the ground toward the end of the trailer belong to a fallen god, who still rests after he was defeated over 8,000 years ago by Man. I'm willing to bet he doesn't stay asleep for very long, though.

Lords of the Fallen boasts a strategic theme, where enemies will counter, and you must learn how to adapt. It's also an incredibly gorgeous-looking game.
Expect Lords to arrive next year, on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
