One of the big announcements Sony made today at gamescom that might otherwise slip through the news cracks is that Minecraft is coming to, well, all Sony platforms. Yes, Minecraft was announced for PlayStation 4, to be released this holiday season. Later, via Twitter, Notch himself confirmed that Minecraft isn't just for PS4, but also for PS3 and PS Vita. All of it starting this holiday.

For a long time now Minecraft has been exclusive to both PC and Xbox 360. We all know the resounding success the game has found on each platform, so Sony making a contract with Mojang to bring it not just to next-gen, but to handhelds! Huge news! Absolutely stunning, stellar, megaton news. Could be one of the best selling games this holiday season, again.
Sorry everyone, it looks like we'll all be purchasing Minecraft again. For the third time. Maybe more, if there's no crossplay. Gah, what a surprisingly big announcement considering it literally got like 5 seconds of screen time during the livestream.
