All signs pointed to October. Do you think the reason it was pushed to November was to ensure all 32 countries will have it by this year? Because this is huge news that it'll release on so many countries.

DedValve Hmm, sure. I think they've got ridiculous demand and want to have as many units out there at launch as possible.

Wanted a mid-November release but will have to wait for the 29th. Isn't an issue, them 14 days will kill knowing others have the console however as long as I get my copy on that day, or at least by the start of December then I'm not really that concerned. The demand they have for the console is understandable as to why the release dates are more spread, however if that means every pre-order (or good as) is insured one by December then fair play.

They didn't though typically this occurs because orchestrating the shipping of so many units across Europe and the UK is a far longer process than shipping within States in the US. I'll take a 2 week wait, it's far better than the 6 month wait for the PS3.

Well, that, and historically only so many units have been created in time for launch; going after one market, especially the primary market for gaming in the world, NA, ramps up both sales and market domination fast. The fact that Xbox One, for example, was rumoured to be aiming so hard for Europe was so that they could do better in the market share there, which was seen by some analysts as capitulation that Sony had a better chance at market domination in the NA region for next-gen.

Plus, as you alluded to, there are differences between the different regions. Even if all the consoles were the same (which they aren't), shipping, customs, development and deployment concerns all play a role. Sometimes it's better to focus wholeheartedly on the big market and then take the two week delay elsewhere. Staggering releases makes this all much easier to handle. I'd be really impressed if they manage the release dates they've set for themselves though -- it'd be efficiency beyond what I've come to expect from major devs, hardware AND software, in the gaming industry, personally.

What games are coming out on launch date? I really think that's a important factor, to me at least. I'm in no hurry to jump into the next generation console, but, I am indeed looking forward to a few of the games that will be coming out.

Anyway, nice to see that its launching on November. But I think I should be canceling my pre-order, probably because I'd be having exams D:
