Fable Legends is officially coming, as Lionhead Studios announces their next-gen Fable game this morning with a brand spankin' new trailer. That's right, we are heading back to the land of Heroes.
The trailer teases four Heroes of Strength, Will, and Skill, showing off the appropriately flamboyant cast of characters. They're a quiet bunch, but multitasking between killing and talking isn't as easy as it might seem.
While the teaser doesn't show very much (hence I'm calling it a "teaser"), we do know that Fable Legends will have both single-player and cooperative play. You can go solo with three AI companions, as is typical of Fable, or bring in some friends along for the ride. Yep, I said "friends", because Legends will support up to four players via co-op: you and three additional players.
As always, you'll also be able to choose your path and either help people or be a complete ass to them. Kick some chickens, murder some innocent villagers...
Sadly, the trailer doesn't seem to hint at any ties to the previous Fable games, like Theresa or some other story element. Could be Lionhead is keeping things hush-hush, or Legends is their clean slate.

Yesterday, folks began noticing that Microsoft had registered Fable Legends domain names, though at the time, no one could say for certain what it was about. Talk about a short wait.
Fable Legends will be out when it's ready.
