New Monster Hunter 4 gameplay has arisen today by way of Famitsu, and it's fairly intense. The footage basically covers a mid-difficulty segment labeled "Tetsukabura Quest," which makes sense because you're setting off to slay the Tetsukabura.
The Tetsukabura is a massive lizard-like creature with a heavy build something like an Ankylosauras mixed with a frog. Spikey armored backside? Check. Heacy club at the end of its tail? Check. The Tetsukabura's limbs and corresponding movements (like jumping all over the place), however, make it much more agile than the dinosaur.
You can also see how player movement has also been improved, to allow better environmental traversal. You'll also be able to grab onto monsters this time, similar to Capcom's Monster Hunters-inspired Dragon's Dogma.
Monster Hunter 4 will be out for 3DS on September 14, at least in Japan. No word yet on when/if the game will be expanding overseas.
