The solid handheld sequel to Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has just had an HD version for consoles announced by Capcom. Coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 via digital download on October 31, the HD update will provide fans of the franchise with the opportunity to play all three games in the trilogy on the same platform. Unfortunately there's no PC announcement, but eventually, right?
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate offers the all-important segue between the two console release. Those who skip it may find themselves discovering a few abrupt changed in the main characters, some important missing backstory that could make the experience all the better. On top of that, they'd be missing a solid 2D Castlevania game that discards a lot of the RPG fluff that's so been so weighty in recent years.
I'd recommend checking out the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate HD update when it launches on October 21, so long as it doesn't turn out to look like absolutely garbage. It's one of my favorite titles from the 3DS over the past year and one of the main reasons I'm excited for Lords of Shadow 2 when it launches this November.
