Techland made quite an impression with those debut screenshots of Dying Light, because one can never have too many scary zombie games. Well, today they released the first gameplay video for the upcoming first-person survival horror action pseudo-shooter. It's pretty scary, too.
The video does a pretty good job of showing combat -- how to fight the zombies -- and the importance of daylight. That goes into the whole "survival" part, after all. Our protagonist goes out during the day to retrieve some supplies, and everything's going pretty well until night falls.
At first, the zombie encounters are much like you would expect: use your gear strategically, avoid confrontation if possible. The world itself is absolutely beautiful and alive, including some interesting human encounters.
Once the sun sets, however, the game seems to shift gears entirely. Zombies are everywhere, and your sight is limited by the absence of light. The infected mobs are no longer weak and vulnerable, so your best bet becomes run like hell.
