How dare Hellscream do that to Taran Zhu. I've already been wanting at his throat since Mists landed, now it's ON.

While I agree, the trailer is awesome, anyone who thinks Mists of Pandaria has been lighter than previous stories is deluding themselves.

-Jade Forest - Both factions land and immediately spark a war in a foreign land, conscripting the natives to fight for us and enslaving those who refuse. As the war escalates, an ancient evil awakens and destroys an entire temple. The Alliance fires cannons at fleeing Horde soldiers.

-Valley of Four Winds + Krasarang - A mother dies giving birth after players struggle to help her to survive. We see an entire people almost completely overrun by the mantid and the breaking of the wall that separates the Pandaren from the mantid. Everyone would have died were it not for the timely arrival of Chen Stormstout leading an army of all of the npcs players helped in both zones.

-Kun-Lai - We basically ensure the extinction of an entire race (the Yaungol) and see that there are a huge number of refugees with no homes thanks to the Horde and Alliance war across the zones (as well as Yaungol excursions).

-Townlong Steppes - We see the Shado-Pan, what is basically the Pandaren's only army, spread thin and slowly losing ground, struggling desperately to hold off attacks from Sha, Mogu, Yaungol, and Mantid.

-Dread Wastes - The. Entire. Zone. It more or less serves as an example of what the entire world will become if the Horde and Alliance don't get their stuff together. A dead, lifeless zone where none but select creatures could possibly live.

5.1 - Alliance vs Horde comes to a head as the main force of both factions arrives and builds strongholds in Krasarang. War sparks up again. We see Garrosh enforcing a police-state on the trolls and having them locked up in their own island. All of the Sunreavers (Horde) in Dalaran are imprisoned. Those who refused to go along were beaten into submission or killed. Meanwhile, Garrosh attempts to assassinate Vol'jin and nearly kills Anduin.

5.2 - The terror of Mogu legend, Lei Shen, is resurrected. We go fight him in his stronghold and we see the consequences of Dalaran's actions here in the form of the bloodelves vs the Kirin Tor.

5.3 - Sacred land in the Vale is dug up for Garrosh's warmachine. We discover the Heart of an Old God buried there and Garrosh takes it for his own. Meanwhile in Kalimdor, you can actually see trolls being lined up and shot outside of Durotar. Vol'jin begins his rebellion with aid from the Alliance.

And finally, come 5.4, we see the Vale completely corrupted, like the Dread Wastes, and players will see the consequences of war - not conquest and glory, but the death of friends and companions and the devastation of the land. Nobody truly wins.

But yeah, Mists of Pandaria has been one of the lighter and softer expansions.

bluexy Thanks.
It's been sort of a pet peeve of mine throughout the expansion when people complain about how soft (I usually see 'kiddy') the expansion is. Blizzard was definitely less in-your-face with the darker elements of the story, but I think that's sort of a theme this entire expansion. The Pandaren are cuddly-looking happy-go-lucky chubby bears that you just want to hug. But underneath all of that cutesy presentation is a mastery of martial arts and an underlying ferocity that can match any orc. Similarly, the story throughout the expansion might have been presented in a cutesy way at times, but if players look passed that, the story is anything but lighthearted. Probably because of Blizzard went with their usual up-front storytelling, the game would probably get an M rating.

Not to say there weren't breaks in the story for some lighter, softer, and more fun storylines (most of the Valley storyline except for the part I mentioned above is helping a guy brew some beer), but that's how a proper world (and story) should be, in my opinion. Not completely sunshine happiness, but not all grim dark either.

This trailer really makes me want to resubscribe again..alas RL doesn't permit much time to play I'm very excited to see the storyline unfolding. I remember when we saw Garrosh in the other expansions and you just feel something shady and wrong with the guy. Glad to see this trailer!

This is exactly what blizzard is hoping for a mass resub to kill Garrosh in less then a week then a mass exudus as people are still bored with never ending dalies.

Also the final ending of that trailer where Garrosh is walkin seems to be pulled right out of the Star Wars: The Old Republic cinematics where Darth Malgus is shown walking after attacking the republic xD

Still not subing to WoW.

You realize that ever since 5.3 (3 months ago), the dailies were toned back (they introduced one - ONE - weekly quest with that patch) and have provided at least four different ways to obtain the rewards that dailies give as alternatives, right? All of the rep gating that was stuck behind dailies has been completely removed. You can do pretty much all end-game content besides the current raid tier and get caught up in about two weeks without touching a single daily. Blizzard even wrote a guide for it.

All I have to say is, this needs to come out faster. Been waiting for the chance to kill Garrosh since Northrend.

NO I don't want to go back to World of Warcraft I don't like Garrosh at all, and I would love to ram a staff through him, but I really don't want to open this Pandora's box back open. I'll wait until its release and see how good it is before I decide to jump back in I suppose.
