This is great news, even though I already kind of expected it; good to hear it confirmed. I really hope they continue this trend toward the all-digital console, it's a really great idea with numerous benefits like using the console with all your games regardless if location.

So say I purchase a game at my friends house on his Xbox one with my account does that mean when I logoff he can play it and I can play it when I log in to my Xbox one?

If that's the case then...

xsaadimran No, hahah. That's actually how it works on Xbox 360 right now though. With Xbox One that will no longer work. It'll be tied to your account and your home console.

Seems kinda dumb. Most games, if you go around you friend's house who hasn't got gold, allows you to have guests anyway.

But currently "guests" can't use microphones. You have to have your own account to do so. Unless they changed it recently.

In theory you could make your friends console the home console, we would have to see what limits they will have to do home consoles(limits to change x times a year, can only have 1 home console per tag, etc)

I reckon you'll probs be allowed one home console per tag that'd make the most sense, i can see being able to change it though.

I'd imagine one console per household, as I don't really see why they would allow for two consoles in a household. Even then as Redemption said will probably be based on an IP address as opposed to a region, so if two consoles were to be allowed per household, registering one at your house and another at your friends' house would probably be a no-go. I'd imagine, at least, they'd have a filter to make sure you're using the same IP.
