Good news for military shooter fans, as Arma III is arriving on September 12. It's a worldwide launch date for Bohemia Interactive's latest, with both retail and digital copies available. To celebrate the occasion, the developers are going to livestream a "sneak peek" of Arma III's launch package on Saturday, August 10, at 17:00 UTC (1pm EDT). The stream will be available on Twitch TV.
Arma III won't include its single player campaign at launch, as that will instead arrive across three free expansions. The first one, called "Survive", is scheduled for a month after Arma III's launch, with the next two, "Adapt" and "Win", arriving later. So yes, that means we'll have to wait a little for the campaign, but that's not really a bad thing. We get access to all 270km2 of Altis and 20km2 of Stratis, the two islands in Arma III, as well as a ton of missions, factions, multiplayer scenarios, vehicles, weapons, and firing drill challenges. Oh, and mod support.
The official website for Arma III has a countdown clock ticking away the time until that September 12 launch. Descriptions, screenshots, and an overview of the game can all be found there. Arma III can be purchased on Steam and Bohemia's store for $44.99, and doing so grants immediate beta access.
