Wolfenstein: The New Order was unfortunately delayed into 2014 recently, likely due to the time and costs related to next-gen development. A sad occurrence absolutely, considering how excited we were after trying the game ourselves, but likely for the better. Either as an apology or as part of some unknown preview MachineGames has released a handful of brand new screenshots. Oh yes, Wolfenstein will definitely be worth the wait.
In these shots we get our first and rather personal look at some of the future Nazis' super solders. Huge, bulky monstrosities that have had mechanical parts built into their bodies, turning them into cyborg behemoths. They don't have guns -- they don't need guns -- and instead prefer to take on BJ with their freaky clawed hands.
Then there's the straight up Nazi gunfights, bloody and violent. These shots must be coming from either PC or next-gen hardware, because they really do look outstanding. As violent as they are, the lighting effect, the highly detailed textures and the impressive modeling is all extremely high quality.
Wolfenstein: The New Order is planned for release in 2014 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. They want to give everyone the opportunity to play their game, and I wouldn't be surprised if everyone did.
