Capcom's Deep Down was arguably one of the most popular reveals when the PlayStation 4 was revealed earlier this year. Problem was, they didn't really tell us a damn thing about the game! Luckily it seems that's all about to change, as Capcom stated today that Deep Down will be debuting at the Tokyo Game Show this September. Oh, and then how about this: they also announced that Deep Down would be an online game.
What? What we've seen of Deep Down so far has been rather, well, I suppose we haven't seen much. What I had assumed was we were looking at a single-player RPG sort of experience. The type where you're scouring dark dungeons and caves. Even the title of the game kind of implies a sort of claustrophobic, solitary experience. An online game, huh? I'm not really sure what to expect anymore.
It could be something akin to say, Monster Hunter, where small groups of players go on adventures together. That would be excellent. I'd hope it was something innovative, rather. Say, searching through a cave or dungeon and just randomly meeting other adventurers. Ack, look at me speculating when we don't even know the first thing about Deep Down.
Look forward to real details about Capcom Online Games' Deep Down at Tokyo Game Show this September. For now, check out this latest trailer, which seems about as far away from multiplayer as you can get.
