Capcom and Warforward Technologies confirmed today that DuckTales Remastered will be released on August 11, 2013 on PC, Wii U and PlayStation 3 (via digital download). After a short delay, it will also launch on Xbox 360 on September 11. To celebrate the announcement of the release date, the team has put together a "Duckumentary" featuring interviews with many developers and insight into the rework's design.
What's most endearing about the Duckumentary, however, is how close so many of the developers seem to the property and project. Considering how, well, low-tech the original game is there's a lot of room to be creative. Wayforward took that breathing room and went to the source -- the DuckTales show and a Disney Imagineer that worked on the show itself. The smiles on some of the developers talking about the art, animation and style of the game make it impossible not to be excited.
If nothing else, the team's done us all a favor by making us listen to the DuckTales theme song again, making our day brighter and happier. DuckTales Remastered launches on August 11 for $14.99. If you want to wait a few days, it'll be available at retail for $19.99 and come with with a Disney collector's pin.
