Microsoft is launching the annual Xbox "Summer of Arcade" starting August 7. This year there's only four games, spread across four weeks, and there's no big contender to compete with past years' Braid or Fez, but all around some solid games. In addition to each of the four games and their release dates, the prices for each title have also been released. Heck with the summer heat, let's play some video games.
Here's the list of four games, their release dates and prices:
- 8/7 - Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (1200 MSP)
- 8/14 - Charlier Murder (800 MSP)
- 8/21 - Flashback (800 MSP)
- 8/28 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (1200 MSP)
In addition, if gamers buy any of the above two Summer of Arcade titles they'll receive a complimentary "Souls Pack" for Ascend: Hand of Kul free. Woohoo?
Again, it doesn't look like this year will quite live up to the expectations that previous Summer of Arcade events have built up to. While I think each of the games looks very fun and some very interesting, it's tough to say whether they'll be as impactful as previous years. Is it due to the upcoming console shift? Are indies starting to be wary of Xbox 360 development?
Ah, who cares. Video games!
