Today is a special day: it's the start of the second annual MolyJam. Why, what's MolyJam you ask? It's only the best 48-hour marathon game creation jam based on a Peter Molyneux parody Twitter account, Molydeux, ever. Last year developers picked a parody tweet and made it into a game. This year, things are being stepped up a notch.
This year developers participating in the 48-hour MolyJam will be doing something a bit more... honest. Rather than use parody tweets to inspire their games, they'll be using actual quotations from the real Peter Molyneux. The team behind MolyJam has picked 22 of Molyneux's best quotes (one for each can), here are some of the best:
"Will the first female nudity give you success or will it turn off the audience?"
"When you rip your fingers on the screen and you tear the landscape apart with your physical hands, it just feels amazing, man. It feels amazing."
"His purpose in life - like Asimov's laws of robotics - is not to aggravate you; Not to piss you off. His second thought is this: He absolutely loves you."
Developers can of course pick any Molyneux quote they so desire, so long as it's a real one. The then have 48 hours to make their game and will then demo it to the world via stream on Sunday. In fact, you can tune into the MolyJam team livestreams right now, as many of them are just kicking off. They're quite literally all over the world.
What's the purpose of the MolyJam? To make dreams come true. Are you ready?
