No more MS Points! That's a relief. It's just too bad that they're doing it now, when I'm about to switch to PS4 soon.... lol

This move is kind of late in the game for Microsoft. Yeah it's a plus for the 360, but it just isn't enough to even remotely improve the Xbox One in its losing battle against the PS4.

The one thing I will miss about MSP is the opportunity of promotions. I've always liked things like the Xbox Rewards program to get free points to spend, and you can't really do that with a cash system.

This has been one of my primary concerns, as they used to (and still do) have a rewards system on Bing where you can create an account, do a certain amount of searches per day, and reap Microsoft Points after a certain amount of credit has been gained. This is something that, while it does not pertain to me now that I have a job, I have suggested to friends of mine that have found it saving them quite a bit of money in the long run. Also, it's a lot easier for Xbox and cooperative companies to send out Microsoft Points around the year (much like Call of Duty and Gears of War did in the past). Unlike a birthday gift from a relative, you wouldn't be able to do this kind of stuff with a "cash" based system.

It's a good thing I spent my 20 MSP's!

Don't really care how they manage with a cash currency. They're pretty much the same anyway, and I won't be left with MSP's after buying a game.

If users would have to sign up for an NDA, I bet very few users would be able to join the beta. Most kids would rat or blog about the changes on their blogs of FB statuses, so NDA would either be useless or the selection is very limited. We'll see, XB1 is coming out soon enough.

Not looking forward to the 86'ing of MSP... Even when you would have extra MSP after buying something, I still think it's gonna be the same way with the cash system.

They have let thousands join in the betas(thus people signing NDA's) in the past. Usually if someone says something and they find out you can pretty much bet your console is disabled until final release. I've gotten into every preview in the past and this one should be no exemption.

With the whole getting rid of MSP, it can be good and bad. Sadly this means nobody will be able to win MSP anymore, although it is good since you won't be left with a minimal amount of points that you can't do anything with.

Ah so I guess the NDA just threatens to close their XBL account? I would assume most of the behind the scenes or beta features get leaked on day 1 anyways so no need for it.

In a sense, yea. Your Xbox gets disabled out of the program(thus you're unable to use XBL since you can't downgrade) and it won't be usable until the final release. Additionally if you try to use your harddrive on another console they get updated and will not be able to use xbl since they don't have access to the beta(or preview). Atleast this is how it has worked in the past. Stuff gets leaked early on but even press get an extent as to what they can talk about. XboxTrial
