Looks like Grand Theft Auto V is going to be a 2013 best seller. Duh. And just to drive that point home, UK retailers have reportedly taken in around three million pre-orders. That's way more than the current record holder, Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Activision and Treyarch's 2010 shooter raked in a solid 1.4 million launch-day sales in UK, a milestone neither Modern Warfare 3 nor sequel Black Ops 2 have met. Heck, not even EA's FIFA series has hit the mark yet, even with how popular the sport is overseas.
Back in 2008, Grand Theft Auto IV brought in 630,000 sales its first day across PS3 and Xbox 360 in the UK. The region's combined current-gen install base for both consoles is roughly 13 million. Now consider that GTA V will be played on three million of those owned consoles.
