Do you need more Dragon Ball Z in your diet? Who doesn't! Get your dose of Z straight from the source with Namco Bandai's newly announced 3D brawler Dragon Ball Z Battle of Z. It's got double the Z compared to other Z products. In Battle of Z players will be able to select from a huge roster of characters, partake in four types of battles, and play solo, co-op or multiplayer online. Plus, all that other Dragon Ball Z nonsense folk die for. Did I say nonsense? I meant AWESOME.
Perhaps the most exciting feature to me is the ability to pick up a team of four players and fight bosses or go online and challenge another team of four. While the DBZ show mostly devolves into 1v1 fights, I've always found the idea of groups of Z warriors fighting together to be an exciting one. If they can pull off that type of brawling in full 3D space they might have a heck of a new series on their hands.
Developed by historied studio Artdink, known for their Gundam, Macross and A-Ressho de Ikou titles, Dragon Ball Z Battle of Z will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita (digitally). No release day yet, but odds are there will be dozens of press releases leading up to the game's inevitable conclusion -- err, release.
