I got lucky, and didn't get the update. Was playing PC minecraft , and Halo 4 for the week the update was sent out then removed. Sure am glad though. Sony will get it fixed.

I have an upgraded HDD, so I'm really glad I didn't download the update on day 1.

I did get the update but I wasn't affected, heard mostly people that changed HDD's I'm still on the stock one, I'm sure maybe some that still have stock HDD might have been affected, guess I got lucky, overall i think Sony is handling it well, they took it down the same day it was up.

Oh, thank god. I've been trying to play The Last of Us since day 1, but I can't ever run the thing for more than a few minutes at a time without my console dying. It's a shame I'll have to wait yet another week, but I'm definitely glad to finally hear something on this.

thanks for mentioning it. it's a relief to hear that i'm not the only one. the first time i noticed this was during the download of far cry: blood dragon (31/5 DD/MM) on my main ps3. i received that problem 3 times in a row with the download, then for a while nothing but then it happened again on my old ps3 with hitman absolution a week and a half later. nothing serious after that.

interesting. ever since i updated to 4:41 both my ps3 consoles seems to have a problem while downloading games and software.

problem is while idle for downloading my console sometimes freezes and neither console or controller buttons respond so the only way to "unfreeze" it is to plug the cable out which effectively corrupts the download.

i can't be the only one who has experienced this lately?
Not at all, I haven't had in update in around a month or so due to lack of internet service, but as of late, my PS3 is having troubles at start up. It'll freeze, I'll have to force shut it off, restart it, let it restore save data, and it restarts at step one. I got lucky and was able to get it running a few times, but it's a real pain in the arse.

Just remember though, that the PS4 is gonna be more like a computer and less like a PS3. The PS3 was built differently than a computer using parts that are designed just for it. By going away from that and back to more common computer parts, it means that games don't have to be changed much, so it should take away from games acting buggy for the most part.

Also, when the PS3 messed up, they just had to release a new patch as compared to the Xbox needing to either be torn apart or sent in to be fixed.

I'm just saying that problems should be expected from either company. I think Sony has handled them pretty well.

This is what kind of scares me about going to PlayStation 4, with Xbox you had a rare chance that your console would red ring[in the early processes of Xbox360]. But with PlayStation 3, they screwed up patches, updates, some games were so buggy that no one played them until Sony/Devs fixed them, their Network shut down[a few times] for a couple weeks for no apparent reason[but they did pay out of pocket to reimburse customers with free games and free PS Plus for a month].

Now, I'm still buying a PS4, no doubt. But this article just kinda reminded me of all the issues PS3 went through before it came out on top.
