I'm not sure it was published early or by accident, but Ubisoft's Russian Youtube account (actually I think it's just an imposter account) just published a trailer featuring Watch Dogs multiplayer mode. The trailer asks the question, "Which is strong, the gun or the cell phone?" The answer, of course, is a freaking gun. No one's running from cell phones in this trailer, but as soon as that gun's been pulled things get real.
Anyway, the Watch Dogs trailer features some 1v1 gameplay where one player's goal is to find a hacking target and download something from their cell phone. It's then up to the opponent to find their hacker and, well, stop them I suppose. Exactly what the win conditions of the mode are seems unclear. In the first half of the trailer the hackee finds his opponent and then loses them as they drive away... but they still win. The second part doesn't really end. It's kind of a clunky trailer, to be honest.
Nevertheless, consider me interested! I can't wait to see more of Watch Dogs' multiplayer mode, even if it does turn out to be a sort of high-tech Assassin's Creed multiplayer. Expect more details as we approach Watch Dogs' release on November 19 across, well, basically every platform available at the time.
