Beyond what was shown in the E3 press conferences, I missed out on seeing Titanfall on the showfloor. Lydia, however, came out of the booth with giant mechs still reflected in her eyes. I want to know what that feels like, and so I'm happy to see Respawn Entertainment beginning to roll out some early marketing. Today they dropped one of their first videos, titled "Inside Titanfall", which takes us behind the scenes and into the thoughts behind what could be one of next-gen's biggest new franchises.
Titanfall, if you missed it at E3, is a 100% multiplayer experience where you take on the role of a pilot. These pilots are agile and strong, able to leap and run on the walls of buildings, and could probably sustain a great multiplayer game on their combat alone. Titanfall doesn't just settle for that though, because what's a pilot without their, err, ride? Thus, we have Titans. Giant robots that are also agile, fast and devastating. Respawn promises that pilots will hold their own against Titans, but that's something I think we'll all have to play to truly experience.
Titanfall is planned for release in Q1 2014 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. No word on eventually coming to the PS4, so we can expect the Microsoft exclusivity to last at least for a while.
