Good news Microsoft were just working themselves into a very difficult corner with all these restrictions on top of the high price point. I'm pretty relieved to hear this to be honest.

Titanfall is also on the PC/360 and is rumored to be a timed exclusive and will come to the PS4 :V
Then there is some light at the end of the tunnel! I'll just have to play Halo 5 on my buddy's X1 then.

Good news existing Xbox fans but I'm still not going to get one. Not a fan of needing an advanced surveillance device for a console to work.

Could've saved them a lot of embarrassment if they had this much common sense from the beginning. How long before they bend over backwards and remove the always-on DRM or the forced Kinnect spy cam, I wonder?

People in rural areas with poor internet don't deserve video games and Microsoft should stop pandering to them.
People who have high speed internet just cause they live in a city deserve video games just cause they live in the city?

You can't blame people in rural areas for not having high speed internet. For example, our family has been on a waiting list for 5+ years waiting for the closest high speed internet provider to bring there services to this area. But with your logic, I shouldn't be able to play an Xbone just cause they don't provide high speed internet in this area? #FuqThat

HypEdit: Just realized the joke thanks to Slash.

I'm shocked. I'm always online and pretty much only buy new games anyways, but this is awesome news nonetheless. Whether or not it applied to me, I hated my want to buy the Xbox One despite all of these restrictions, and now I can enjoy my first launch console without overwhelming guilt!

Good news but is it really because Microsoft cared or heard about fans or they did this because of the pre-order margin?

Pretty sure its pre-order margin.
In the interviews they kept on saying they wouldn't change it and that fans would get used to it.

So much this. EDIT: Well, I guess that was a question rather than a statement.

Seriously, sitting and actually reading that "your feedback matters" letter is infuriating, especially when it should read "our profits matter."

This is still good news, it's great for Xbox fans and I appreciate the act itself (not too much however since this is merely a desperate fix for something that should've never been an issue in the first place), but *bleep* that condescending bullshit.

They already lost me as a customer based on the attitude and responses from their staff (Mattrick, Major Nelson). I think the damage has been done, and that they've lost a lot of core gamers who are now in the Sony camp.
I have seen other peoples responses but not Major Nelson's. Link plz.

Fortunately we have a product for people who aren't able to get some form of connectivity: it's called Xbox 360.
Why make such statement at all?

MN was very antagonistic towards Angry Joe. He also dodged a lot of questions, and in some other statement made up a bunch of BS like "we're not worried about the PS4; even if they have more ram because it's GDDR5 it'll run hotter" <paraphrased></paraphrased>

Now if they get rid of the mandatory Kinect junk I might actually contemplate buying the Xbone
